Study Tip - even if vs even though

-> Remember that even if is used before statements that are hypothetical i.e. not fact:


e.g. Even if I had all the money in the world, I wouldn´t buy that car.


We wouldn´t have caught the plane even if we´d taken a taxi.


-> Even though, on the other hand, is used before statements that are fact:


e.g. She´s not happy with her job even though she´s just had a pay rise and promotion.


He went to the cinema with his friends even though he´d already seen the film.
