Tatoo

A tatoo is the marking of the skin with punctures into which pigment is rubbed. It´s a kind of decorative body modification that has been practiced for centuries worldwide.

Tatooing has been a Eurasian practice at least since around neolithic times. They have served as rites of passage, marks of status, symbols of religious and spiritual devotion, decorations for bravery, sexual lures and marks of fertility, pledges of love, punishment, amulets and talismans, protection etc.

Today, people choose to be tatooed for cosmetic, sentimental, memorial and religious reasons, and to symbolize their belonging to or identification with particular groups.
