1. Brush [alguém] off. Ex.: The reporters tried to ask him some questions, but he brushed them off. Os repórteres tentaram fazer-lhe algumas perguntas, mas ele os ignorou.
.brush-off (substantivo): desdém; desprezo.Ex.: The boss just gave me the brush-off when I tried to give him some advice. O chefe deu-me apenas desprezo quando eu tentei dar-lhe alguns conselhos.
2. Brush [algo] off. Ex.: My father´s cholesterol is very high, but he just brushes it off. O colesterol do meu pai é muito alto, mas ele simplesmente o desdenha.
